FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -July 19, 2012 - Cass-Clay Creamery of Fargo, North Dakota, is voluntarily recalling the following ice cream products because they may contain undeclared allergens.
The following products have been recalled, because they may contain undeclared Brazil nuts:
Cass-Clay Maple Nut Ice Cream, 1 Gallon (3.78L), UPC 70422-03404
Cass-Clay Premium Light Maple Nut Ice Cream, 1 Gallon (3.78L), UPC 70422-23404
Hornbacher’s Maple Nut Ice Cream, Half-Gallon (1.89L), UPC 41130-21666
The following product has been recalled because it may contain undeclared peanut oil and soy lecithin:
Cass-Clay Premium Light Double Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream, Half-Gallon (1.89L), UPC 70422-24061
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these ingredients run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled products were distributed in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. All code dates for these products manufactured in Plant # 38-25 are affected.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumers are advised to return these products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. Anyone requiring more information is advised to call the Consumer Affairs line at 1-800-441-4269.
