FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 26, 2011 - Emporium Packaging & Spice Co. of Temple, Texas  is recalling  all Ponchatrain Sauce Mix because it may contain undeclared milk and soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Ponchatrain Sauce Mix was distributed in Temple, Texas through the firm’s retail store.

This product is packaged in a clear 0.17 lb. plastic bag labeled with a white and red paper label. The label reads Emporium Packaging & Spice Co. Ponchatrain Sauce Mix.

There have been no illnesses reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk and soy. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by oversight of label contents.

 Consumers who have purchased Ponchatrain Sauce Mix are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at (254) 774-9098, Monday through Friday 8Am to 5 Pm CST.
